My client is a global research organization with over 3000 employees working in the field of material and
analytical science, chemical synthesis, process development, bioscience, catalysis and digitalization. With
their highly scientific, state-of-the-art veterinary laboratories and research facilities and with their
exemplary scientific veterinary knowledge, they aim to support their customers worldwide while driving
sustainability. Due to an open vacancy within the Pathology team, they are looking for a new Veterinary
Pathologist to join their highly versatile team.
This role falls within the Toxicology and Ecotoxicology unit and therefore has a wide range of duties from
across the pathology technique. These include everything from necropsy assessments to histopathological
assessment of tissues from lab animal studies, as well as all types of mechanistic and regulatory studies.
For this highly practical and varied role, you will also participate in the scientific development and
establishing of new methods and contribute to the publication and communication of the team’s findings
as well as on-site labs and meetings aimed at the improvement of criteria for efficiency, quality, and safety.
Finally, you will also ensure scientific evaluation and interpretation of pathology data by concurrent
adherence to international regulatory guidelines, INHAND nomenclature as well as GLP and ISO principles.
We are looking for a highly curious veterinary pathologist with 5-7 years’ experience, who is ECVP or AVPC
board certified, board eligible or equivalent, and may also have a PhD or equivalent in Veterinary Medicine. They
should have a working background in toxicology, within a CRO, a pharmaceutical or chemical company.
Practical experience with lab animals is required, as is experience as a veterinary pathologist doing slide
readings, which will be 60-70% of your daily work. This role is located in Germany where the candidate is
expected to be in the office 3 days per week, with some occasional travel to conferences and congresses.
Overall, this is a very exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative company within a role which
offers a great deal of versatility, a chance to learn at a multidisciplinary level across the pathology sector
and an opportunity to be involved in the wider scientific community from day one. In return for your skills
and experience my client will be offering an excellent package as well as all the benefits that you’d expect
from a multi-national organisation.
